We met on TikTok, but with the ever-changing algorithm and uncertainty with the app’s legal existence in the United States, we wanted to make sure our voices continued to be heard so we can continue to educate folks on the importance of native plants, pollinators, biodiversity, and humanity’s relationship with nature. So, we started this podcast.

LaDawna Howard
LaDawna is an avid native plant gardener that has been transforming her yard into a pollinator paradise for the last few years and shared her journey on TikTok as @DonnaLikesPlants since 2022 cultivating an audience of around 30K nature-lovers.
LaDawna lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and adorable dog named Violet.
EMILY WAYLAND
Emily is an environmentalist, hobbyist gardener, and citizen scientist who has shared her efforts rearing Monarch butterflies online since 2017 in order to educate and spread awareness of their very serious population decline. In 2024, she became a certified Pollinator Steward through Pollinator Partnership.
Emily lives in south-central Wisconsin with her husband, Tobias and two rescue dogs as well as two rescue cats. By day, she is a full-time creative/marketing professional in the hospitality industry. She has a BA in Studio Art Photography and Graphic Design from UW-Green Bay and UW-Madison.
